The Gauteng Department of Social Development has announced on their social media platforms on 02 November 2021, that they will be offering bursary opportunities to qualifying students living in Gauteng.
The bursary is for students wanting to follow a career in the Social sector and will not be given to students that benefit from other bursary schemes.
The busary covers the field of Community Development, Financial Management, Demography and Population Studies, Clinical Psychology and Occupational Therapy.
The bursary will cover the registration, tuition fees, textbooks and study material with the criteria that they are permanent residents within the Gauteng Province for at least one year prior to application, a South Africa citizen, currently studying or intend on studying full-time in one of the listed fields. Students will have accepted to study at the recognized tertiary institution.
The youth from all races, gender groups and with disabilities that meet the requirement are encouraged to apply. The application forms are collected and submitted at any Gauteng Social Development office/institution.
The required documentation should be accompanied by the application form and a certified ID copy, certified matric certificate, certified copies of all educational qualifications, proof of tertiary acceptance/proof of registration, motivational letter, proof of residence, parents/guardians proof of income (payslip or affidavit if unemployed). The closing date is 17 November 2021.
