A local business owner from Ga-Rankuwa, Ms Boitshepo Modiselle, who started a doughnut business, Boitshepo’s Doughnuts, in 2019 has received funding from Shoprite Hustle Competition to improve his business.

She entered the Shoprite competition where twenty small businesses received prizes to help improve their businesses. The winners were announced between 27 September 2021 and 31 October 2021.

Ms Modiselle has been making and delivering affordable doughnuts in and around Pretoria and said she is operating her company, Boitshepo’s Doughnuts part-time while she is busy with the completion of her IT Diploma at the Tshwane University of Technology.

Ms Modiselle said winning the 2021 Shoprite Hustle competition means a lot to her. “Shoprite offered a program that helps improve business skills and teach about pitching one’s business.

“I plan to expand my menu, increase the space where I am operating, and to employ more people,” she said.

Mr Lwazi Nopote from Shoprite Corporate Relations and Communication said, “The annual Shoprite Hustle competition is held to help boost small business development and celebrate established and promising business.”
